The never-ending to-do list

This past weekend we went to the drive-in, cleaned house, went to a potluck bbq, and ate some awesome seafood. With that stuff and catching up on some sleep, there wasn't really much time to do anything else.

My to-do list never seems to get any shorter!

Non-house stuff:
- Edit/make prints/put together wedding album(s).
- Finish getting my name officially changed.
- Buy new shorts for kickball.
- Get oil changed.
- Get shoes resoled.

House stuff:
- Put up art/clocks/etc, all rooms.
- Paint, all rooms.
- Tame yard.
- Organize garage.
- Desks, office.
- Shelving, office.
- Coffee table, living room.
- Round side table, living room.
- Side lamp, living room.
- Bookcase/shelving, living room.
- Buffet/sideboard, dining room.
- Bench/etc, foyer.
- Storage, master bath.
- Storage, master closet.
- Cart, kitchen.
- Shelving, kitchen.

At the rate I'm going, we won't have a housewarming party until next year... which is fine with me, but it seems kind of silly to have it so late after we've moved in. Should we even bother?

One month + 2 days

One month and two days of marriage... let's see what I've been up to...

- Went to Puerto Vallarta for our honeymoon, narrowly escaping Montezuma's Revenge
- Saw Willy Wonka at Screen on the Green... actually I saw about 1/2 of it and then dozed off, only to wake up to a wine headache
- Attended 4 birthday parties, as well as a birthday dinner for my husband
- Went to Starlight twice in one week (for Superman Returns and Pirates of the Caribbean)
- Missed the monthly blogger meet-up, but did make it to an impromptu meet-up with Lori and friends at the Highlander
- Weekends worked: 2 (Weekends worked at this job as a single girl: 0)
- Thank you cards sent for wedding presents: 0
- Pictures received from photographers: 1000+

All in all, a pretty good month.

In other family news... mom also called me to say that her uncle had died the Saturday after my wedding. Very sad to hear. I think the last time I saw him was either as early as 1991 or as late as 1998. He had a love affair with all things John Deere and would collect toys like this. I'm sorry I didn't get to spend more time with him.

Time for my semi-monthly post?

Well the wedding and the honeymoon were both awesome! Thanks to everyone who was a part of our big day. We still have some shot glasses left, so if you didn't pick one up or if you want a set or something, let me know! Barry and I put our honeymoon pictures up on Flickr (here and here). It might take me a while to post our wedding pictures, but they'll be up eventually!

Ever since we got back from Puerto Vallarta on Sunday, we haven't had much free time. Monday we went up to Lawrenceville to visit the in-laws, Tuesday was music trivia, Wednesday we cleaned up the kitchen and put our new dishes in the cupboards and took the old dishes out to give to Salvation Army, Thursday was Screen on the Green to see Willy Wonka, and yesterday was Emily's birthday fiesta at SweetWater/Fuego/FunBowl. And I thought that after I got out of grad school there wouldn't be much to do... boy was I wrong. Today and tomorrow, I am working in the downtown/midtown area from 10a-6p being the Weekend Manager on duty. Fun. This is the first weekend I've ever had to work at this job... hopefully, I won't have to work another one in a long time. So while some of you out there have a 4-day weekend... I only have a 1-day weekend, which starts and ends on Tuesday... lucky me!

And in case I forget and don't post again for a while...

Happy Birthday Grandma!
Happy Birthday John!
Happy Birthday Marty & Muriel!
Happy Birthday Barry!
Happy 4th of July everybody!
