Hurricane Rita

Barry brought up something last night... just think, if this were the year 2007... it would be Hurricane Rebekah.

Dude of Honor?

Yay, we have a wedding party! It took me a while to figure out exactly what to call John... I looked on the interweb for some suggestions and one was "Dude of Honor"... now that's just silly.

Happy Birthday Kozmo!

Today Kozmo turns 4. =) Well... actually we really don't know when he was born, we just use the date when we adopted him from the humane society. We got him when he was 2 years old... and as of today, Kozmo has been with us for 2 years. Seems like just yesterday when we picked him up. Can't imagine life without him.

No turning back now...

http://rebekahandbarry.weddings.com

We paid the deposit yesterday at Glen-Ella to reserve the weekend for our wedding, June 16-18, 2006. Now we just have to hope people will want to join us. My biggest fear is that we plan everything just the way we want it and then nobody comes... nobody wants to spend the weekend away, or they have better things to do, or they don't want to drive that far, or they just don't want to come. Owel, you can't plan everything.

So... all we really know right now is the date and the place. Next comes attendants, officiant, guest list, dress, menu, photographer, invitations, registries, etc. I'm exhausted just thinking about it all!

Music History

This day in 1990 - Guitarist Tom Fogerty dies of respiratory failure from tuberculosis. Along with his brother John, he was part of Creedence Clearwater Revival, whose two No. 1 albums were "Cosmo's Factory" in 1970 and "Green River" in 1969.

This day in 1971 - No. 1 Billboard Pop Hit: "Go Away Little Girl," Donny Osmond. Steve Lawrence hit No. 1 with the song in 1963, making this the first song in the rock era to be a No. 1 hit for two people.

Hot 100 - For only the sixth time in the history of the Hot 100, the top two positions on The Billboard Hot 100 are held by the same lead artist. It is the first time that the lead artist is a woman, as Mariah Carey remains No. 1 for the 14th week with "We Belong Together" and rises 4-2 with the follow-up, "Shake It Off."

Hot 100 - "We Belong Together" is on top for the 14th frame, putting it into a five-way tie for the second-longest running No. 1 of the rock era. The all-time champ is another Carey single, "One Sweet Day," recorded with Boyz II Men. "We Belong Together" joins "I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston, "I'll Make Love to You" by Boyz II Men, "Macarena" (Bayside Boys Mix) by Los Del Rio and "Candle in the Wind 1997" / "Something About the Way You Look Tonight" by Elton John in second place.

#1 - The most weeks at No. 1 of any artist in the rock era. The current standing: Elvis 79, Mariah Carey 75.

#1 - It's been 20 weeks since a male artist has been No. 1.
