since I started using Movable Type, I have slowly forgotten how to write a simple html webpage. had to reteach myself today at work by looking up html tags and characters online... this webpage is what I made, pretty simple, but it will work!

Geeking out!

So a few days ago (I think it was Sunday) the network went down at our apartment. Hakeber calls me at work to get some instructions on how to reset the modem and switch and nothing seems to work. I come home and can't figure it out either. I call Bellsouth Tech Support to see if there are any outages in the area or if it was my computer. The person has me power cycle the modem and switch and nothing work. They spout something off like it was the software on my computer. We set up an appoitment for today to have a technican come out and check it out.

In the mean time I mess with a few things. I take out the old switch and plug my computer directly into the modem. Sure enough it works fine. This leads me to believe that the switch is bad (tried reseting several times and downloading new drivers and all). So I go out and purchase a new wireless router and card for Hakeber's computer. Hook everything up and it still doesn't work. Well the Bellsouth Tech came by and was puzzled too. He put in a new modem just like the one I had and it worked. No explaination as to why it wasn't working before.

So almost $300 later in new equipment and technican fees, I have a wireless network at my apartment. Everyone can now come over and geek out in my living room. Isn't this what a TECH graduate is suppose to be living like?
