my neighbors
man, sometimes I'm really glad I don't know my neighbors... like last night when I could hear a couple in the apartment next to me having sex. they weren't quiet about it. I mean, I had music on in the room and still heard them.
but the neighbor guy above me, "Brett", seems pretty cool... I hear him playing the guitar almost every night. he mostly just piddles around on the thing... can't say that I've heard him play any actual pieces that could constitute a song. maybe he's working his way up to a full song and just hasn't gotten there yet. or maybe he likes to tinker with scales and chords. or maybe he knows a lot of songs and just doesn't like to play them. he is playing right now. making up things about people you don't really know is good times. =) maybe I should get his phone number and make requests whenever I hear him playing... haha... Brett's apartment request line... it's a thought.
anyways... I've been waiting on Barry to get home from Oklahoma almost all day... (notice the difference between the scheduled times and the actual times)

must leave computer...
so I got up today at a quarter 'til 10, and what do I do? I go straight to the computer. Is that pathetic or what? no breakfast, no newspaper, no nothing... just email and im and seeing how many people
have come to my page to vote on how hot it is... or isn't.
in other news, a friend of mine came into town yesterday. [she's been working at Cedar Point all summer in their wardrobe department.] so I met up with her and her guy friend/boy toy/summer fling at the Atlanta Federal Reserve Bank because her older sister works there. man, that place is huge... a fortress for money. anyway, we ate there and we walked around the place a bit and then we tried to go to the top of the Westin to have a few drinks... but damnit the bar/restaurant didn't open til 4pm. don't they know that people drink at all times of the day?! geez.
eye candy: cool clock [I stole it from my old Computer Science professor's webpage]

friday five
1. Where were you born? Elizabeth City, North Carolina @ Albemarle Hospital
2. If you still live there, where would you rather move to? If you don't live there, do you want to move back? Why or why not? I don't live there... I really don't even remember living there. I was hauled off to Louisville, Georgia when I was around 3. But I would definitely like to visit
Elizabeth City one day... it looks like a really nice place. =)
3. Where in the world do you feel the safest? anywhere that Barry is... (awwww)
4. Do you feel you are well-traveled? yes, but that doesn't mean I don't want to travel more... there are so many more places I want to go
5. Where is the most interesting place you've been? La Rochelle, France... hope I get a chance to go back one day!

whew...
I don't like dealing with Financial Aid and the Bursar's Office. I don't like dealing with them at Tech. I don't like dealing with them at State... even though I haven't heard back from them yet... will deal with them on Monday, when I go to downtown to State's campus. I don't like sitting through four hours of boring lecture. I don't like searching for a new job. I don't like green eggs and ham... Sam I am. I need a nap.

my sentiments exactly
this is one of the funniest things i have ever read in the atlanta edition of creative loafing. after going to church for many many many years, I never knew that God had "homies cold-chilling in East ATL - bling bling, bee-yatches!"
... and here's another reason why I like creative loafing... (in the "bad habits" section) the blotter - items of public record taken from actual Atlanta police reports... this one amused me very much:
"A 33-year-old man was drinking in Buckhead on a Saturday night. Around 3:45 a.m., he was getting money from an ATM at the corner of Roswell and Peachtree Roads. Two heavyset women, both with strawberry blond hair, approached him and started to chat. The 33-year-old said he became confused and didn't get his ATM card back. He remembers one woman saying, 'Press cancel to retrieve your card.' Later, he realized his ATM card was missing. When he called to cancel the card, he discovered that his ATM card had been used several times at a Wal-Mart in Conyers." ha!
lots of news...
well... I'll start off with Tuesday (Barry's birthday). Barry was at home most of the morning/afternoon and while I was on campus, so my birthday present to him arrived while I wasn't there. I got him One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest on DVD from his amazon.com wishlist. =) When I got off work at 10 p.m., Barry, along with some friends, came to pick me up and we went out. Now this wasn't your normal outing (at least, not a normal outing for me)... we went to Tattletales. I must say it was a different experience. if you want to know more... IM me, or ask in the comments. =)
then... when I was back at home, I got to open a letter from GSU. and I was accepted into the M.H.P. program! yay! ... of course I still have to graduate from Tech first.
and today... stats4all dot com finally decides to work... the site has been down for quite a while now. they said that they were performing maintenance on the site but would still record statistics for every webpage as well... looks like
they didn't. booo stats4all.
I guess that is enough from me... 5 hours of work for me and then my weekend starts. maybe I'll buy a red Swingline stapler to start my weekend off with a bang! =) ttfn.

monday, monday
wow, is the weekend over already? it doesn't seem possible. friday was filled with margaritas and pirate golf. (arrrrgh... booty!) I managed to get a score of 60 I believe... par was around 45. saturday was a day of relaxing and ordering in chinese. sunday was the day of the big tv... now we can watch DVDs without the picture fading in and out... and we have picture-in-picture... and did i say it was BIG? =)
today I must go to work at five o'clock pm. I even managed to get myself out of bed before noon. (!) I should probably do homework at work (hey, it's summer... there's not much work to do at work in the summer)... but I will most likely piddle around on the web and play games... like these!
- battleship!
- now here's a lite brite where you won't lose any of those little pegs
- the south park studio where you can make beaucoup de south park kids... and now here's me as a south park kid! (ain't I cute?)

southern hospitality
so I joined the Atlanta Blogs
webring today... I must say that looking at other pages on the webring has made me want to dabble in photography again. I took a photography class at Tech last fall and I loved it. got to learn the basics as well as how to process and develop black and white 35mm film. being in a darkroom is so relaxing if you're the only one down there. just put on some good music and the hours fly by! here are some scanned pictures from that class. (I'll put them in the pics section eventually.)
pic1 — pic2 — pic3 — pic4 — pic5 — pic6— pic7 — pic8
just got back from lunch at Rocky's...
first time I've eaten there and I must say it is a pretty cool place to eat... and the food's good too. ;) today starts the first day of my 5-day break from work and school. it definitely feels like a friday to me. yay! but I guess I'm not the only one who celebrates the 4th with a 5-day weekend... which brings up "southern hospitality"...
some band people
I talked to yesterday said there was no such thing as "southern hospitality" anymore... at least in the big city. but what exactly -is- southern hospitality? is it free refills on your sweet tea? is it just greeting somebody with "howdy"? or is it something more? hmmm...

an update
so I took a final today... and on that final was the worst question that a professor could ever give his students... it basically asked for us to summarize -everything- that we had talked about in the last half of the term into an understandable essay (in about an hour or less). owel... at least that class is overwith. now I just have to concentrate on Shakespeare and Revolutionary Europe. (woo hoo!)
if you really like me, you'll buy me this CD... I've already downloaded a few songs... so far I really like Starry-Eyed Surprise (with the lead singer of one-hit-wonder Crazy Town), but I think Southern Sun is going to be the first single.
